Eden Resort BY FAR THE BEST IN ALBUFEIRA
Eden resort was booked as a weeks break for me and my wife this summer.
The whole place is stunning and so so clean, the room was amazing infact better than 5 stat resort we have stayed in before.
The apartments are so so well built and the furniture and tv etc is better than our home.
The pools are stunning and a great choice, we saw the comments about sunbeds and this just isnt true YES some pools are smaller so they have not packed then with beds but all guessed prefer that, the main pool has a load of them and is full everyday, and no room to put anymore to be honest. If people want a bed you go earlier.
The staff are ok but if you know portugal you should know this is how all portuguese are! so the apartment location and facilities were what made the holiday for us.
The old town is amazing and the place to be in the algarve and the walk is fine, it 10 mins down a new road, or if you are lazy you can get a taxi it was £3 peak summer! i think people have been a little harsh on this wonderful resort, you cant build eden on the beach as its 100 of years old!
The breakfast was great we loved the half board, fruits, cooked, breads, everything fresh and filled us for the day. NO IDEA why anyone would moan or book all inc, as portugal is about eating out not sitting in all day.
BY FAR the best all year round resort in this area and im sure it will go from strength to strength its brand new after all.
Georgeous Resort.
My husband and I returned home on Tuesday the 29th of June after staying at the Eden resort for a week. I would highly recommend this resort for couples and families, the apartments are first class, very spacious modern and well equiped, with plasa TV internet access and an i pod docking station. All free of charge to use. We decided to go all inclusive for the week, which would be my only complaint, the week started off well with ice cream included as well as crips nuts etc through out the day. However after the 3 rd day we were told that these were no longer included and only available between 11.30 and 12.30 and 4.30pm to 6pm. Then we were told that crisps and nuts were no longer at all, and as they had replaced the ice creams which included cornetto magnum and solero!! it would now be scoop ice cream.
We didnt let this spoil our holiday as it was so new and just teething problems, the staff are very friendly although the English is not great we managed okay. The swimming pools are very clean always a sun bed available and hammocks to sit in, and plenty of umbrellas were also available to.
I would strongly recommend a visit to this resort before the prices go up which they are bound to very good value for money and I plan to return in a couple of years to see how things have changed.
Fantastic Holiday, very peaceful & relaxing.
This resort is an excellent choice for families or couples. Quiet & very peaceful. Apartments are very spacious & beautifully decorated, also very clean. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful and I would definitley recommend this resort to people. We travelled into both new town & old town & both cost around 5 euro in a private taxi.
Perfect for relaxing!
As a couple we were looking for a holiday of nothing but rest and relaxiation, therefore here is our review of Eden Resort:
We were a little sceptical before arriving given the resort is still so new and had only been open for a matter of weeks before we arrived. Upon our arrival, we found reception wasn’t sign posted all that well, but once in, we were tended to very well.
We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment which was beautiful and finished to a very high standard. Any issues that had been raised in earlier reviews about air con not working seem to have been recitified as we had no such issues. Their are still workman working on the resort as roughly half of the apartments are still being finished.
We found that the restaurant was a little hectic at times, particularly at breakfast and that the staff lacked experience and management to maintain a high level of service, though they did their best of which you can ask of no more. The staff do not speak fluent English, therefore communication at times was a little challenging. I am sure these are just teething problems as they are young group of people that seem to have been given the task of tending to all the guests needs.
1 of the 3 pools advertised was not open, therefore we had a choice of 2, the main pool, which had music, games etc on throughout the day and a smaller and quieter pool to choose from. We found the quieter pool more to our liking due to wanting to avoid lots of children. The resort did seem to have a lack of loungers available for all the guests on site, something that I hope the management recognise over the coming weeks as no doubt the resort will gain in popularity. A little grumble we had was for all the pools which will be open on this resort there is only one pool bar, which is next to the main pool, therefore getting a drink or an ice cream requires a small trek if you are not lounging by the main pool. The pool bar closes at between 5.30 and 6 dependant upon how busy they are which I felt was a couple of hours too early based on a resort of this size.
For a resort which offers self catering facilities the on site mini market was not stocked very well,with day to day food which we are accustomed to having in the UK and was not always open. Again I put this down to teething problems.
This resort is not within 15 minutes walking distance to Albufiera as is mentioned on some literature. We can personally verify that having walked into the center of Albufiera on an evening. It is a hilly walk and the paths still need to be finished, in the heat which approached 35 degrees most days made the journey hard work and very tiring. I would therefore recommend either taking a taxi or booking yourself on the daily transfer offered by the hotel.
All the above were minor issues, which in time will be resolved, so please do not let these minor issues put you off. The resort is probably 6 months away from having all the views/ facilities up and running to the high standard required for such a stunning resort.
I would recommend this resort to anyone wanting to get away for a nice relaxing holiday.
Heaven on Earth!
Me and my boyfriend who are both in our early 20′s stayed at the Eden resort from the 13-17th of June, just 3 days after the opening of the resort. The following is an honest and detailed account of our experience during our stay.
The Resort: Eden Resort really is as good as it looks. On arriving at the reception of the resort you are taken back by the modern luxurious feel and this is continued throughout the resort. The staff are exceptionally friendly and the service felt more and more personal throughout our stay! The resort is quite large little houses dotted around the large gardens. It really does feel like your on a movie set when your there. It was also always extremly quiet and peaceful there- although this may be because the resort is brand new and not many people were staying at the time. The resort has 3 large pools which are very nice. The main pool has a pool bar and they do entertainment like quizes and water arobics. there is also an indoor pool and spa with jacuzzi but these were not open during our stay as they are finishing some work in the resort. there is also a minimarket, resteraunt and bar but we went out every night so didnt eat/drink there.
The Rooms: We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment and all I can say is that it was STUNNING! Modern, extremly spacious and exceptionallyu clean. The maids clean and bring fresh towls every day. The room is equipped with everything you could possibly need including tv, ipod docking station and FREE internet which we thought was great! the only complaint i could make was that the rooms got a bit chilly at nightime at this tine of year as there is no heating just airconditioning.
The Location: Eden resort is slightly in the middle of a building site! the whole area seems to be being renovated and new resorts being built. however this was never a problem and the resort is well away from any noise. There is a free shuttle bus which comes every 45minutes to and from the beach which comes every 45minutes which was excellent! It literally takes less than 5 minutes to get there. The resort is halfway inbetween the old town/beach and the strip which was really convenient. The only complaint waas that the last shuttle was at 6.30pm which meant we often had to get a taxi to dinner in the evening. however this only cost 5euros and we even walked there a couple of times..it only takes 15 minutes!
Albuferia: Albuferia is really beautiful and is great for a relaxing getaway. There is a beach at the old town which was busy but not over crowded . it was clean and sandy althogh the water was freezing! The old town has your basic british cafes and bars, but if you look around there are some great little resteraunts serving traditional cusine and fresh sefood. For nightlife head to the strip which has numerous bars and clubs to party at. The Kiss club is open till 7am! there are also a few really nice resteraunts here too. If you dont fancy spending your whole holiday at the beach then there are plenty of activties too, a nearby waterpark called aqua world 19euros for entry and lots of boat trips to the caves start at about 25 euros per person-some include food. The weather is amazing this time of year sunshine and blazing tempretures every day of our stay- althogh it can get chjilly at night- so bring a cardi!
Pleasant stay, quality rooms and great location!
The resort is amazing and the location is great, 15 min walk to the old town where there is a wonderful beach and 5 minute taxi to the strip for about 4 euros. Very friendly staff. There was some confusion about shuttle bus procedures and times but this hotel is brand new so we put it down to teething problems. But the hotel does run a free shuttle to and from the old town which is very handy. Overall we are very happy with out stay at the eden resort and would recommend it to couples or groups as the apartments are very spacious.
